Did you miss TWIT-Pac? TWIT-Pac missed you. Let’s do some hoops!
Wed. Jan. 6
Seattle (6-9) at OSU (6-7 / 0-2) – 6:30 p.m. (all times Arizona/Mountain), FSNW
Seattle University’s nickname is the Redhawks and they play as an independent. Kurt Cobain did not go there.
USC (10-4 / 2-0) at Stanford (6-7 / 0-1) – 8 p.m.
The soldiers in Kevin O’Neill’s army have won eight in a row. Can they stay motivated now that they’ve been barred from postseason play?
UCLA (6-8 / 1-1) at Cal (9-4 / 1-0) – 8:30 p.m., FSN
UCLA has the worst overall record in the league. I really enjoy being able to say that.
Fri. Jan. 8
WSU (11-3 / 1-1) at ARIZONA (7-7 / 1-1) – 6:30 p.m., KGUN9/FSAZ/FSNW
Wazzu’s Klay Thompson leads the conference in scoring at 24.3 points per game. Considering Jimmer Fredette only came into McKale averaging 19.5 that’s not a good sign.
Washington (10-3 / 1-1) at ASU (10-5 / 0-2) – 8:30 p.m., FSAZ/FSNW
The Devils are in last place in the league standings. That’s fun to say too.
Sat. Jan. 9
UCLA at Stanford – 4 p.m., CSN BA/PT
The Cardinal just lost by 26 to Mike Montgomery’s Cal team. Lute better not be thinking about coaching at ASU.
USC at Cal – 8:30 p.m., FSN
With the L.A. schools coming to town are the Bears ready to remind people why they were picked to win this league?
Sun. Jan. 10
WSU at ASU – 1:30 p.m., FSN
Klay Thompson averages 7.6 made field goals a game. ASU made 11 as a team against USC.
Washington at ARIZONA – 3:30 p.m., KWBA/ FSAZ/FSNW
This weekend the Huskies will be playing just their second and third true road games of the season. That gives us some hope, right?
OSU at Oregon (10-4 / 2-0) – 8:30 p.m., FSN
The Ducks opened Pac-10 play by sweeping what looked like the toughest road trip on the schedule (at the Washington schools). Not bad for a team that won two Pac-10 games all of last year.
It’s too early to do Who do we root for?s and, as far as Arizona is concerned, it doesn’t really matter. The Cats just need to focus on their own games, get better, win, and get better. Oh, and get better.
