Sacramento State (0-1) at ASU (0-0)
It’s your first chance to root for Whoever’s Playing ASU! Don’t worry, WPASU gets much better the four weeks after this.

Weber State (1-0) at Utah (1-0)
WSU beat Stephen F. Austin last week by a score of 50-40 and Utah tallied 30 against Utah State. I predict a final score of 20-10.

Oregon (1-0) at Virginia (1-0)
The Cavaliers’ waited out a two-hour rain delay before only producing 223 yards of offense in beating BYU. They may want to order a typhoon to try and slow down the Ducks.

Portland State (1-0) at Cal (0-1)
Sonny Dykes accused Northwestern of faking injuries last week and the Bears still managed to run 99 plays. When Cal faces Oregon in three weeks the referees would be advised to wear comfortable shoes.

Hawai’i (0-1) at OSU (0-1)
The Beavers didn’t beat Eastern Washington on the field last week but they did win the dance competition:

Central Arkansas (1-0) at Colorado (1-0)
The last time the Buffaloes started a season 2-0 was 2008. The second win that year was against Eastern Washington. Play the dance video again, Beaver fans!

ARIZONA (1-0) at UNLV (0-1)
Quick, when was the last time the Wildcats won a true road game against a Mountain West school? It was 2001, against San Diego State, in John Mackovic’s first game (the one with the suit). The Cats have lost to Utah (2005), BYU (2007) and New Mexico (2008) since then. Eek.

WSU (0-1 / 0-0) at USC (1-0 / 0-0)
A conference game! A conference game!

Who does Wildcat Universe want to win?
Wazzu. This time of year you want the North teams to pin losses on the South squads.

San Jose State (1-0) at Stanford (0-0)
Remember last year when the Cardinal barely beat SJSU at home? It was such a bad omen they went on to win the Rose Bowl.

Washington (1-0) – bye
UW vaulted into the polls with a blowout win over Boise State and will stay there with a guaranteed non-loss this week.

UCLA (1-0) – bye
The Bruins get an extra seven days of rest before a top-25 showdown at Nebraska.

The Cats are going to Vegas! Arizona is 1-0 all-time against UNLV (Mackovic’s third game at the UA) and 1-0 at Sam Boyd Stadium (2008 Las Vegas Bowl) but the Wildcats have never played against UNLV at Sam Boyd Stadium.

I am going to Vegas too! The plan is to drive up with some friends, meet up with more friends there, hang out with the tailgate crew, and cheer on the Cats. I’ve made it to all the Stoops/RichRod bowl games but this will be my first UA football real-deal road game outside the state of Arizona and I cannot wait.

If you see a guy in a red hat making yet another trip to the ATM, be sure to say hi!
