Sean Miller on the scoreboard

The song will not remain the same.

Well, I’m certainly disappointed with the news that the UA has decided not to bring back Tip-Off Chant. It’s never easy to lose a tradition older than any of the current players on the team.

I appreciate Greg Byrne hearing the fans’ request and taking the time to respond. At the very least this was a reminder of Wildcat fans’ passion for Arizona Basketball and UA sports across the board.

I hope as the year goes on and into the offseason the basketball program reconsiders the McKale pregame song and takes another look at reviving “The Rev-Up” at its original, high-energy pace. It would be a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Lute Olson’s arrival in Tucson and a fitting tribute to Bobbi Olson‘s lasting impact on the Arizona family.

I hope the entire Wildcat Universe will join me in continuing to support Sean Miller and the BasketCats as they work toward getting this program all the way back to where we all know it can be.

See you this Saturday at the tailgate, Wildcat Walk and Senior Night at Arizona Stadium.

Bear Down.
